2 Ways To Combine Networking and Home Business

A lot of times the difference between success and failure in a home business lies in doing the little things. Today we all tend to get lazy because the Internet makes it so it easy to build our businesses. One thing that has not changed over time however, is the importance of incorporating networking into your home business.

There are a several ways that you can combine networking in your home business to achieve the results you are looking for.

1. Many people have a blog today, but they are not using it to its fully capabilities. One way that you can network more with your readers is to invite them to post comments.

This is not all that unusual and you probably have seen people making comments on other people’s blogs. One step that I do not see home business owners take however is to personally email the people who take the time to post comments in their blogs.

I am talking about sending a personal email thanking someone for taking the time to make a post on your blog. From a networking standpoint the results of taking this one little step can be staggering.

Many times the people who will buy a product from you, or join your home business, are the ones who you get to know on a personal basis. This can be difficult to do because as Internet marketers we tend to hide behind our websites and email accounts.

Networking is where you get to know people on a personal level and provide value and benefits to each other. One little thing like sending an email to a blog post could create a lifelong business relationship.

2. Another step that I see people miss is taking the time to reply to the emails they receive. It is very easy to get busy on the day-to-day activities of building an Internet business and forget about networking.

In case if someone takes the time to send you an email, and ask you a question, this should be one of the most important things you do that day. I am not talking about wasting your time on generic questions either.

Frankly your website has a frequently asked questions section where people can get answers on some of the easiest questions. But for more detailed questions you should take the time to reply to those honestly and to the best of your ability.

Here are two ways that you can combine networking and your home business that would pay off in the future for you.

Hi Kha,

Nice post. One more way to combine networking in your home business is to get involved in discussion forums. Because there you get an opportunity to help others and meet new people with common interests, which also becomes an easy way to add new contacts to your list and build your internet home business.

Hi Kha

You have described 2 really good ways of networking – and I must admit that I am guilty of not always replying to people who comment on my blogs – but I will always reply to someone who asks me a question.

I think you have to be a real people person to be successful in internet marketing – if you are not prepared to give someone help when they ask for it, how are you going to succeed? This is how marketing works, as any entrepreneur will tell you.

Thanks for this advice.

Hello, Kha:

Thanks for these tips on improving one’s Internet Marketing business through improved networking. Acknowledging and responding to blog comments is definitely something that a lot of us overlook.

Regarding responding to emails, if I receive an email with a personal message, I always respond. I seldom respond to messages that are obvious spam, or are being sent to me in a group mail because I am on a mailing list.
