When you begin your journey to make money free online there are a couple of things you will need to avoid. First as you begin searching if you come across any website or blogging telling you that you will make millions within days or weeks they are lying. Think about it if they could actually make that much within a couple days or weeks would they let you in to take their money? NO. This is one of the oldest scams in the book and I am still amazed by the amount of people that fall for this scam on a daily basis. The first rule that you should follow when trying to make money online is if it sounds too good to be true then it is.

The second thing that people need to realize when trying to make money online is they should understand that working online is no different than working at a 9-5 job. If you think that it consists of creating a website and/or blog then just waiting for the traffic and money to come you are dead wrong. Working at home takes intense website marketing and constant updating of your web presence. So as you begin you will need to remember that you are not the only one online trying to make money in fact your amongst millions that have the exact same idea that you have so be prepared to fight for your position on the SERPs. Usually to stay on the top of Google for a competitive keyword you will need to spend a minimum of 8 hours daily working on the promotion of your website.

If this sounds like too much work then you should consider yourself among the 97% of webmasters that give up. Don’t worry though there are still plenty of ways to make money online if you have the patience and are willing to put forth effort. I am talking of course about freelancing. To stay on top of google and other search engines you will need to constantly be writing articles and submitting to SEO friendly sites such as social bookmarking and manually reviewed directories. When experienced webmasters do not feel like doing the work they will out source it and if you would like to make a little extra money this is how to do it. First and highest paying is the article writers. You don’t need to be a professional writer to make it online, but you should have a decent grasp of the English language and be able to research and write about anything to be able to make it online. The pay for these writers depends on the quality and quantity of articles they are able to produce. I worked a couple months for a webmaster who ran a large site about making money and was paid $500.00 monthly to write 100 articles 500+ words each. It took a couple hours each day to write the articles, but the webmaster always paid on time and I was thanked each time. Personally though I had the drive to make it online so now my website and blogs are the webmasters main competition.

If you are not a writer, but you still have free time to work online then it would be good to offer your services as a submitter. Webmasters are always looking at increasing backlinks and are willing to pay a decent amount for people to submit their sites to social bookmarking sites such as digg.com as well as free directories. Usually you will only make .25-1.00$ per submission which is not a lot, but webmasters usually have well over 1000 sites they would like their site submitted to.

If you are interested in any of these then feel free to go to webmaster forums and the majority have a market place where it is ok to offer your services or answer cries for help from webmasters looking to expand their web presence. Anyway I hope this points you in the correct path to make money online without getting scammed.
